Blood Drive Campaign at ALFA College

In celebration of Deepavali, ALFA College hosted a Day of Life Blood Drive Campaign on Tuesday, 25 October 2011.  The local-community event was conducted by Hospital Tengku Amuan Rahimah of Klang.  The Hospital’s Mobile Blood Transfusion Unit spent the day at our Malaysia college and set up several blood-collection stations in the lobby where students and staff joined in contributing to the cause.

Joined by the Directors of REAL Education Group, Chief Executive of ALFA College, Alfred Wong, made a personal blood donation to the campaign.  “The Blood Drive Campaign is a worthy cause which ALFA College is very pleased to support.”

Blood supplies are at a low nationwide which often drop to minimal levels during holiday periods as the end of the year approaches.  The Malaysia college system has been a ready source for the nation’s blood bank as universities and private colleges have been large contributors to blood campaigns nationwide, and mobile, blood-donation campaigns have been particularly successful in restoring supply levels in recent years.
