ALFA College Visits Thailand’s Silpakorn University
Lecturers and students of ALFA College’s School of Visual Communications recently visited Silpakorn University in Bangkok, Thailand. It was a return trip for many of the visitors who had made an initial visit 12 months earlier. This year’s visit gave students and lecturers the chance to reacquaint themselves with old friends and to build new relationships.
One of Bangkok’s trendiest shopping malls, Siam Discovery Center provides fertile ground for finding fresh ideas from Thailand’s best designers. This slideshow showcases creative works of store displays, signage, typography as well as t-shirts and decorative accessories.
ALFA college recently hosted a workshop for SPM leavers interested in the Graphic Design and Multimedia diploma programmes. A panel of GD / MM graduates shared how their experiences at ALFA College helped them land their first jobs, advance their careers and establish their own business.

Visual Communications — Using Media to Deliver the Message
Ms. Ong Siew Guet, who serves as the Head of the School of Visual Communications, presents a brief overview of Visual Communications. She discusses the primary objective of visual communications which lays the foundation for the study and practice of graphic design and multimedia design.
“It’s all about the message you are presenting and then skillfully using the tools to deliver this message to your audience.” She provides clear industry examples to illustrate her point.
