ALFA Students Shine at MBAM Logo Design Competition

On 21st November 2013, the Master Builders Association Malaysia (MBAM) held its ‘MBAM Logo Design Competition 2013’ Prize Presentation Ceremony at ALFA International College in recognition of the participants’ efforts and creativity in designing the MBAM logo. The objective of the competition, which was jointly organized by MBAM and ALFA, was to ‘create an innovative logo that embodies the spirit of MBAM as a modern, proactive and resilient association that champions issues pertaining to the construction Industry’.

MBAM conveyed its appreciation towards the highly encouraging response that it received by presenting Certificates of Participation to a total of 38 students who participated in the competition (pic) and followed that up by awarding consolation prizes to six students in the form of RM200 cash each. The six were:

    • Chia Li Yian
    • Chai Chew Ling
    • Chan Yee Kei
    • Noah Kwek Kung Yik
    • Ang Loui Chiy
    • Soh Wei Jian

The coveted RM3000 grand prize however, was won by Ms. Eng Zui Chee for her outstanding design. R.E.A.L Education Group Chairman Dato’ Aziz Tan Sri Bahaman and Group Executive Director Ms. Jenny Sim, along with ALFA International College Principal Mr. Francis Ng and several of its lecturers, were also present to witness the event. All entries were judged by a panel headed by MBAM Chairman of Awards & Constitution Committee Ir. Lau Mun Cheong.

This competition is the latest feather in the cap that further cements ALFA’s stature as a creative design college. Moreover, its standing as an established architecture college had certainly sparked ideas for the ALFA participants in their MBAM logo designs, with inspiration present all around them that are related to buildings and the construction industry.
